Directions: Vincennes State Historic Sites are located throughout the city of Vincennes. From U.S. Highway 41, enter Vincennes at Sixth St. Proceed south on Sixth Street to College Ave. Turn right. At Second Street, turn left. Harrison St. is then one block on the left. Turn right. The site is one block ahead on the left.

Description: Composed of the the Indiana Territory Capitol, the Print Shop of Elihu Stout, the Birthplace of Maurice Thompson, the Log Cabin Visitors’ Center, the Old State Bank, Fort Knox II, Sugar Loaf Mound and the Jefferson Academy, the Vincennes State Historic Sites mark the beginnings of Indiana.

The first televised sporting event in Indiana was the 1949 Indianapolis 500.
