blind.jpgThe Indiana State Museum features options for our visually impaired guests, including an audio tour.

  • The 180-minute Acoustiguide tour offers audio description and interpretation of the museum environment and exhibits and is designed for visitors who are visually impaired who travel with sighted persons.  There are approximately 100 "stops" on the tour throughout the museum's Core Galleries. Visitors may select the themes that interest them most and explore those areas in the building. Other features of the audio tour include a familiar "telephone keypad" layout on each device, glowing numeric keys and uniquely shaped buttons. The museum has 25 Acoustiguide audio tour devices available, and there is no additional fee for the program.
  • Informational signage for public areas of the museum incorporates both raised lettering and Braille.
  • The museum includes many tactile and multi–sensory experiences in its exhibits.
