Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has announced a nationwide prescription drug “Take-Back” initiative that seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft. All Indiana State Police Districts, excluding the Toll Road District, will participate in this important event. DEA will collect potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction at sites nationwide on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
Indiana State Police Turns Up the Heat on Impaired Drivers
Officers will join more than 250 state and local law enforcement agencies to conduct high-visibility saturation patrols, sobriety checkpoints and other activities designed to deter impaired driving and motorcycle riding across the Hoosier state. This statewide effort begins August 20th and goes through September 12th, devoting 21 days to the deterrence of drunk driving.
