Pipeline Safety

The Pipeline Safety Division is the section of the Utility Regulatory commission that oversees natural gas pipeline companies in the State of Indiana. This Division is also part of the Federal Government Office of Pipeline Safety.

The Division staff is trained to make sure operators of gas distribution systems follow state and federal guidelines which were established to promote the safe, reliable transportation of natural gas to their gas customers in Indiana. Each member of the Division undergoes extensive training provided by the Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) and is considered a specialist in the area of pipeline safety.
