ORDER APPOINTING SENIOR JUDGE

This Court has been advised that following the retirement of the regular judge of the Floyd County Court on August 15, 2003, additional judicial resources may be required for the efficient operation of the Floyd County Court.  

We now find that the Floyd County Court had a weighted caseload statistic of 1.53 during 2002, which warrants the appointment of a senior judge.  We find further that extraordinary circumstances presented by the retirement of the regular judge and the appointment of a replacement judge and the need for additional judicial resources warrants the appointment of a senior judge.  We find further that the Honorable Robert T. Hublar has been certified for senior judge service by the Judicial Qualifications Commission effective as of August 16, 2003.  Having exceeded the minimum caseload requirement during 2002, and the extraordinary circumstances presented by the Floyd County Court, we find that the appointment of Senior Judge Hublar is appropriate until December 31, 2003. 

IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED that the Honorable Robert T. Hublar is appointed as a senior judge in the Floyd County Court beginning August 16, 2003, through December 31, 2003.  Pursuant to Ind.Code §33-4-8-5, the Honorable Robert T. Hublar may not be compensated as senior judge for more than one hundred (100) days in the aggregate during this calendar year.

The Clerk of this Court is directed to forward a certified copy of this order to the Honorable Glenn H. Hancock, newly appointed Judge of the Floyd County Court; to the Honorable Robert T. Hublar; to the clerk of the Floyd County Court for entry in the Record of Judgments and Orders; to the Indiana Judicial Center; and to the Division of State Court Administration, Payroll Section.
