ORDER APPOINTING SENIOR JUDGE

The Presiding Judge of the Marion Superior Court requested the appointment of Senior Judge James Harris for service in that court for the remainder of the 2003 calendar year, pursuant to Ind.Code §33-4-8-1.

We now find that the Marion Superior Court had a weighted caseload statistic of 1.20 during 2002, which warrants the appointment of a senior judge.  We find further that the Honorable James Harris has been certified for senior judge service by the Judicial Qualifications Commission.  Having exceeded the minimum caseload requirement during 2002, we find that the appointment of Senior Judge Harris is appropriate until December 31, 2003.

IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED that the Honorable James Harris is appointed as a senior judge in the Marion Superior Court effective July 28, 2003, through December 31, 2003.  Pursuant to Ind.Code §33-4-8-5, the Honorable James Harris may not be compensated as senior judge for more than one hundred (100) days in the aggregate during this calendar year.

The Clerk of this Court is directed to forward a certified copy of this order to the Honorable Cale Bradford, Presiding Judge of the Marion Superior Court; to the Honorable James Harris; to Mr. Mark Renner, Court Administrator for Marion Superior Courts; to the clerk of the Marion Superior Court for entry in the Record of Judgments and Orders; to the Indiana Judicial Center; and to the Division of State Court Administration, Payroll Section.

DONE at Indianapolis, Indiana this ________ day of July, 2003.
