Judge Thomas G. Fisher

Hon. Thomas G. Fisher

Thomas G. Fisher was appointed Judge of the Indiana Tax Court on July 1, 1986, by Governor Robert D. Orr and retired January 16, 2011.  He is currently serving as Senior Judge for the Indiana Tax Court and at the trial court level.

Prior to his appointment as Judge, he served as Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney from September 6, 1967, to July 1, 1986. He also maintained a private law practice in Remington, Indiana, for twenty-one years. He attended Earlham College (B.A. 1962) and Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington (L.L.B. 1965) (J.D. 1968). He was admitted to practice in the Indiana Supreme Court in 1965, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana in 1965, and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1969.

Judge Fisher is active in various professional and civic organizations and has lectured in business law at Saint Joseph’s College. He is married and has one son, one daughter, and seven grandchildren.
