Alting: Impact of EDS move is positive;
Senator proud of role state played
(STATEHOUSE) – As a member of the Economic Development and Technology committee member, and chairman of the subcommittee, Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) understands the importance of economic growth. In lieu of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) plans to hire more than 100 workers at a new location in Purdue Research Park in West Lafayette, Alting said this expansion will positively impact the community by supplying high-paying jobs.
“Senate Republicans are working with Gov. Mitch Daniels to bring new jobs to Indiana and today’s announcement by EDS shows our efforts are paying off,” Alting said. “I’m thrilled EDS has decided to locate in West Lafayette and bring high-paying jobs to our community – and that incentive training grants from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, which the Senate worked with Gov. Daniels to create, helped seal the deal.”
According to Alting, this announcement is a testimony to Indiana’s increasing efforts and opportunities for finding jobs.
Sen. Alting represents Senate District 22, which includes a portion of Tippecanoe County.
