Senate Page Program

Serving as a Page for the Indiana General Assembly is an excellent educational opportunity for students to gain a first-hand glimpse of how the legislative process works.

Students in grade 6 through high school seniors may apply to serve as Senate pages while the General Assembly is in session. Students will serve in the State Senate for one day assisting legislative aides and interns with legislative tasks and attending session in the Senate chamber. Volunteering as a Senate page is an excused absence from school.

In 2013, the General Assembly will meet January 15 through April 29. Pages serve only on session days, which are generally Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week.

There are a limited number of page positions available, and interested students are encouraged to contact their State Senator early. Please apply to be a page online or send requests by letter to your Senator and include the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Mailing Address
  • Phone Number
  • Age
  • School
  • Two different dates when they are available

Letters may be addressed to your State Senator at the Indiana State Senate, 200 W. Washington, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

For more information on the program, please contact Senate Student Services at 800-382-9467 or 317-232-9410.
