President Pro Tem David Long Announces Chairmanships
STATEHOUSE – Senator David Long (R-Fort Wayne) today announced the assignments for the Senate Committee Chairmanships for the 2007-2008 Legislative sessions.
“This group of Senators represents a mix of our seasoned leaders as well as some new chairpersons who have shown they possess the talents and skill set to run a Senate committee,” said Long, the new President Pro Tempore of the Indiana Senate.
Among the new Senate chairs are Sen. Bob Jackman (R-Milroy) who will chair the Natural Resources Committee; Senator Gary Dillon (R-Princeton) who will chair the Ethics Committee; Sen. Brent Steele (R-Bedford) who will chair the Corrections, Criminal and Civil Matters Committee; Sen. Brandt Hershman (R-Monticello) who will chair the Senate Utilities and Regulatory Affairs Committee, and Sen. Dennis Kruse, who will chair the Pensions and Labor Committee.
