Long: Senate Hearings on Property Tax Reform,
Two-Year State Budget to be Broadcast via Internet
(STATEHOUSE) – Hoosiers can view hearings on matters like property tax reform and the state's two-year budget beginning tomorrow, Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-Ft. Wayne) announced today.
“A new video system was recently installed in room 431 of the statehouse to bring Hoosiers closer to the daily action of their state legislature,” Long said. “The system has undergone several tests and should be fully operational in time for viewing these two committee meetings as well as all future hearings held in that committee room.”
Senators on Tuesday will consider a property tax reform package offered by Sen. Luke Kenley (R-Noblesville) beginning at 9 a.m. On Thursday morning, senators will discuss a two-year state budget authored by Sen. Bob Meeks (R-LaGrange). The exact starting time for the budget committee has not been set.
The broadcast can be accessed at http://www.in.gov/legislative/session/video.html and by clicking on “View Senate Hearings in Room 431.”
