(STATE HOUSE)—The Indiana Senate Majority Communications Department welcomes new press secretary Courtney Smith.
Smith, a Shelby County native, will work with state senators within the majority caucus, including Sen. Teresa Lubbers (R-Indianapolis).
“As we modernize and expand our communications efforts, Courtney’s knowledge and experience will be great assets to the Indiana State Senate,” Lubbers said. “We are delighted that she has decided to share her talents in the public sector as a member of the Senate staff.”
Smith is a 2001 graduate of the department of telecommunications at Ball State University, Muncie, Ind.
In December 2007, she will defend her thesis and earn her master’s degree from the department of public relations at Ball State University.

“I am excited to work with the senators, statehouse staff and various media outlets throughout the state,” Smith said.
Smith, a 1997 graduate of Shelbyville Senior High School, is the daughter of Steven D. and Tywanna M. Smith of Shelbyville.
