Lt. Governor Skillman is leading a delegation of mayors, business and agricultural leaders on an economic development mission to China, June 11-17, 2012.
During the trip, the Lt. Governor will recognize Indiana’s 25-year relationship with Zhejiang province. She will make stops in Hangzhou, Yuhang and Beijing to strengthen Indiana’s relationship with China. As Indiana’s secretary of agriculture, she will promote Hoosier products. Indiana’s agricultural exports have increased in recent years with a large majority of the growth coming from China. Indiana exported an estimated $1.035 billion in food and agricultural products to China in 2011. The costs of the trade mission are being covered through private donations.
