Professional Development Office

The Professional Development Office (PDO) supports the advancement and development of library staff in all Indiana libraries for improved services to the citizens of Indiana. The PDO includes specialists in the areas of programming, children’s services, continuing education opportunities, and services available from the Indiana State Library.

Oversees the work of the Professional Development Office.

Jennifer Beach - Regional Coordinator, Eastern Region, 317-605-4518, jbeach@library.IN.gov
Acts as liaison for the Indiana State Library for libraries of all types in the Eastern part of the State.  Special areas of expertise include public service, customer service, and adult programming.

Jayma Stamper - Certification Program Coordinator, 317-234-6217, jellerbrook@library.IN.gov
Provides training and consulting services regarding all aspects of librarian and specialist certification in Indiana, including initial certification, continuing education, and renewal of certification. 

Michele Farley - Children’s Services Consultant, 317-234-5649, mfarley@library.IN.gov
Provides training and consulting services related to children's services throughout the state.  Primarily focuses on early literacy, facilitating programs like Collaborative Summer Library Program, Every Child Ready to Read and other initiatives.

Jessica Jacko - Regional Coordinator, Northern Region, 317-650-8492, jjacko@library.IN.gov
Acts as liaison for the Indiana State Library for libraries of all types in the Northern part of the State.  Special areas of expertise include reference and circulation services.

Acts as liaison for the Indiana State Library for libraries of all types in the Western part of the State.  Special areas of expertise include outreach services for children and adults and young adults Services.
