NRC's Division of Hearings Has Moved

The Division of Hearings has moved. Our new address is: Indiana Government Center-North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N501, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46204-2200. During our transition period, filings may be made either at our former location or at our new address.

Riparian Zones within Public Freshwater Lakes and Navigable Waters

The Commission adopted Information Bulletin #56 (LSA #08-13), a nonrule policy document that describes legal principles to identify riparian zones within “public freshwater lakes” under IC 14-26-2 and within “navigable” waters under IC 14-29-1.

NRC Mission Statement

In September, the Commission adopted its first Mission Statement.

Citizen Comments to Hearing Officers

The Natural Resources Commission adopted nonrule policy document, Information Bulletin #55. The primary purpose of this bulletin is to encourage consistency, transparency and efficiency in the development of hearing officer reports by employees of the Division of Hearings to the Natural Resources Commission. Information Bulletin #55 clarifies that citizens must identify themselves when filing comments in order for those comments to be included in a report or to be considered by a hearing officer in an analysis.

Indiana Economic Development Corporation Rule Comments

In accordance with IC 4-22-2.1-6, comments from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) are made available with respect to the following rules: LSA Document #06-193; LSA Document #06-272; LSA Document #06-333; LSA Document #06-570; LSA Document #06-605; and LSA Document #07-186; LSA Document #07-542; LSA Document #07-595; LSA Document #07-659; LSA Document #07-735.

*These comments are also available for inspection and copying at the offices of the Natural Resources Commission, Room W272, Indiana Government Center-South, 402 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. The comments were also made available at the public hearings as required by IC 4-22-2-26.

2007 Director's Annual Report

In accordance with IC 4-22-2-28.1, the 2007 Director's Annual Report, with respect to the function of the small business regulatory coordinators of the Natural Resources Commission, has been submitted to the Legislative Council and to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
