The City of Frankfort's municipal electric utility is seeking a rate increase in a pending case before the IURC.
The OUCC is reviewing the city's request and is scheduled to file testimony on January 17, 2017.
Written consumer comments are invited through January 10, 2017. The OUCC's November 28 news release offers additional information. An IURC public field hearing was held on December 5, 2016 in Frankfort.

Frankfort's current base electric rates were approved in 1997.
Electric utilities can also adjust rates due to changes in wholesale power costs. Those costs can only be recovered on a dollar-for-dollar basis. They include OUCC review and IURC approval before taking effect.
As of July 2016, Frankfort's electric rates rank third-lowest among the 14 electric utilities the IURC regulates.
