The IURC has temporarily suspended the procedural schedule in the Frankfort municipal electric rate case. A status report from the utility is due on March 24, 2017.
The OUCC issued a November 28, 2016 news release to invite consumer comments. An IURC public field hearing was held on December 5, 2016 in Frankfort.

Frankfort's current base electric rates were approved in 1997.
Electric utilities can also adjust rates due to changes in wholesale power costs. Those costs can only be recovered on a dollar-for-dollar basis. They include OUCC review and IURC approval before taking effect.
As of July 2016, Frankfort's electric rates rank third-lowest among the 14 electric utilities the IURC regulates.
