Ogden Dunes Municipal Water Rate Case

On January 16, 2008, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) issued a rate case order approving a settlement agreement between the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC) and the Ogden Dunes Municipal Water Utility. A copy of the 9-page order in PDF format is available by clicking here.

The approved agreement will increase the town's base rates for water utility service for the first time since 1985, with the additional revenue paying for infrastructure improvements and operating and maintenance costs. The agreement will increase the quarterly water bill for a residential customer using 15,000 gallons over a three-month period from $60.08 to $77.57 (including the town's fire protection surcharge). If divided into even monthly increments, the monthly cost for such usage would increase from $20.03 to $26.55.

A public field hearing in this case (IURC Cause No. 43295-U) was held on October 16, 2007 in Ogden Dunes; the OUCC issued news releases inviting consumer comments on October 10 and August 3.

Documents filed in this case are available on the IURC Website by clicking here and entering docket number 43295.
