LAKE COUNTY, Ind.- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces State Road 2 (S.R.2) will be closed at its southern junction with U.S.41 during the daylight hours of July 17 during resurface construction.

Residents and businesses will have access to their properties on either side of the closure, but through traffic on S.R. 2 will be detoured. Westbound traffic will be directed to take U.S. 41 south to State Road 10 (S.R.10) west, which turns into Illinois State Road 114 (IL S.R. 114), to Illinois State Road 17 (IL S.R. 17) north, which turns into S.R.2. Eastbound traffic will be detoured by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to take IL S.R.17 south to IL S.R. 114 east, which turns into S.R. 10, to U.S. 41 north and back to S.R.2.
