Southbound I-65 rest area closed during chlorination of water system

Southbound and northbound rest area ramps also restricted during resurface construction

NEWTONand JASPER COUNTIES, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is closing the southbound I-65 Kankakee Rest Area for 24 hours beginning at 8 a.m. July 17 in order to chlorinate the water system. Then on July 18, the entrance ramps for both the southbound and northbound I-65 Kankakee Rest Areas will be closed for approximately one hour each during resurface construction.

The rest areas are approximately 1.5 miles north of State Road 10 near the Jasper/Newton County line.
