State Police Discover Marijuana during Routine Fly-Over

Knox County - Yesterday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m., Sergeant Andy Clark and Trooper Kim Riordan were flying over southern Knox County looking for cultivated marijuana when they spotted five plants in the backyard of a residence located at 5590 South Water Works Road near Monroe City.  Sergeant Clark was able to land his helicopter in a neighbor's yard and Trooper Riordan confronted the homeowner.  An investigation quickly determined that the homeowner, Darin McCarter, 43, had planted and was caring for the marijuana plants.  McCarter was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail.

 

ARRESTED AND CHARGE:

1.      Possession of Marijuana, Class D Felony
