INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 24, 2009) - The Indiana Economic Development Corporation's Small Business Development Centers will host a six-part workshop series designed to educate entrepreneurs on disaster preparation and recovery for their businesses.
This workshop series was made available through a grant awarded by the U.S. Small Business Administration which allows any Indiana business that registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency during the 2008 Indiana floods to attend free of charge. The seminars are open to all businesses and, for those not registered with FEMA, the cost is $25 to attend. Workshops will be offered in Bloomington, Columbus, Crown Point, Franklin and Terre Haute beginning Sept. 1.
Attendees will receive assistance writing disaster recovery plans, reading financial statements, developing marketing plans and accessing financial capital in today's marketplace.
The ISBDC has also partnered with several Indiana consulting companies including Milestone Advisors, Edge Marketing and MediaSauce, to offer one-on-one consultation services to companies affected by the 2008 Indiana floods. The consultants will help businesses prepare for future challenges resulting from natural disasters.
For information on specific workshop dates, ticket availability and locations in each area, visit www.isbdc.org/disaster.aspx or call (866) 997-7232.
