Lieutenant Governor Skillman Awards Cloverdale with a $28,800 Planning Grant

Indiana Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman recently awarded the Town of Cloverdale with a $28,800 planning grant the town will use to fund a storm water drainage study. The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs administers planning grants through the Small Cities and Towns Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

"Planning grants are invaluable tools that can help rural communities improve the quality of life for their residents," said Lieutenant Governor Skillman. "I'm pleased to award this grant to Cloverdale. It's exciting to partner with you, and to recognize your commitment to your community."

Cloverdale will use grant funds to identify storm water drainage issues and inadequacies of the drainage system. The plan will also focus on areas that experience flooding of storm water drains on a regular basis and provide solutions for related future community needs.

The CDBG grant program has proven to be an effective tool for community-based planning and research initiatives that improve local quality of life and economic opportunities.
