HAMMOND, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces State Road 312 (Chicago Avenue) between U.S. 41 (Calumet Avenue) and Columbia Avenue will be closed during daylight hours Aug. 31. This will allow crews to perform watermain installation.
Residents and businesses will have access to their properties on either side of the closure, but through traffic will be detoured via posted signs. Eastbound S.R. 312 traffic will be directed to take U.S. 41 north to 141st Street east to Columbia Avenue south and back to S.R. 312. Westbound traffic will be directed to take Columbia Avenue north to 141st Street west to U.S. 41 south and back to S.R. 312.
