The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 6:00pm in the North Side High School cafeteria (Door#1) located at 475 East State Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The purpose of the public hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on current design plans for the proposed southbound US 27 (Clinton Street) road improvements approximately 550 feet south of Elizabeth Street to State Boulevard including the bridge replacement over Spy Run Creek located in the City of Fort Wayne, Allen County. The gross total project length is about 0.6 mile. Construction of the project will require approximately 0.70 acre of new permanent right-of-way. A displacement of one commercial property and two residential properties and involved with this project. A proposed official detour over State routes would use I-469 around the east side of Fort Wayne. The tentative timetables for right-of-way acquisition and construction will be discussed during the formal presentation. Public statements for the record will be taken following the formal presentation. Individuals interested in participating in the public statement session may sign the speaker's schedule prior to the presentation. Project maps, displays, informational materials, in addition to INDOT project officials will be available prior to and following the formal presentation to address questions, comments, and concerns.
