Eight People Arrested on Meth Related Charges.

Miami County - In the past 48 hours, an ongoing joint drug investigation by the Indiana State Police, the Peru Police Department, and the Miami County Sheriff's Office has resulted in the arrest of six adults and two juveniles. They face a total of 12 felony and two misdemeanor charges related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine in Miami County.  

Recently, officers noticed an increase in methamphetamine labs and meth trash in Miami County.  To combat and reduce the number of dangerous labs and criminal activity, each department committed officers for this investigation.

Arrested and Charges:

Justin M. Goshert, 29, Wabash, IN

·         Conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, class B felony

Karen Woods, 22, Peru, IN

·         Conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, class B felony

Joni Espenscheid, 34, Peru, IN

·         Conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, class B felony

Henry Shell Jr., 44, Amboy, IN

·         Manufacturing  methamphetamine, class B felony

Breanna C. Williams, Lafayette, IN

  • Conspiracy to commit theft, class D felony

Steve M.P. Baker, 33, Twelve Mile, IN

·         Possession of a drug lab, class D felony

A 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, both from Howard County

·         Theft, class D felony

·         Possession of a precursor, class D felony

·         Possession of anhydrous ammonia, class D felony

·         Criminal trespass, class A misdemeanor

Goshert and Woods were out of jail on bond. They were initially arrested by Indiana State Police officers on November 10, 2009. They were facing felony drug charges related to a methamphetamine lab that was allegedly found in a Peru, IN, home.

The adults were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. The two juveniles were incarcerated at the Kinsey Youth Center in Kokomo, IN.
