Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission
The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission regulates electric, natural gas, telecommunications, steam, water and sewer utilities. The commission is a fact-finding body that hears evidence in cases filed before it and makes decisions that balance the interests of all parties to ensure that utilities provide adequate and reliable service at reasonable prices.
Membership: Five commissioners appointed by the governor.
Governor's appointment:
- Larry Landis (Indianapolis), founder and president of Marketrends, Inc. and co-founder of American Grassroots LLC
Landis was first appointed by the late Governor Frank O'Bannon in 2002. This is his third reappointment. His term will expire December 31, 2011.
Vincennes University Board of Trustees
The board holds the university's financial, physical, and human assets and operations in trust for future generations.
Membership: 10 gubernatorial appointees, Vincennes University president, Vincennes Community School Corporation superintendent, South Knox School Corporation superintendent, and North Knox School Corporation superintendent.
Governor's appointments:
- Doug Bawel (Jasper), president and CEO of Jasper Engines & Transmissions and former chairman of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Reappointment.
- Reggie Henderson (Fishers), president and CEO of the Indiana Business Diversity Council and former director of small business and economic development policy for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce
- RJ Reynolds (Newburgh), vice president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Indiana and member of the Vincennes University Foundation board of directors
Terms expire October 5, 2010.
