Guidelines

Funding Priorities
The RDA's enabling statute outlines four priority areas: expansion of the Gary Chicago International Airport, extension of the South Shore commuter train service, creation of a Regional Bus Authority, and redevelopment of the Lake Michigan Shoreline. At this time, the RDA Board has determined that the Regional Development Authority should confine its efforts to these areas.

Eligibility
Although other capital projects that are related to regional economic development may be considered, the RDA Board has determined that the focus should be on the four designated priority areas. Likewise, requests for donations or charitable contributions may be meritorious, but due to the RDA's limited funding the Board feels that the priorities set by the General Assembly must take precedence.
