Securities Division-

Chief Deputy Securities Commissioner

The Chief Deputy Securities Commissioner is responsible for assisting the Securities Commissioner in the administration and enforcement of the Indiana Uniform Securities Act and the supervision and management of the Securities Division.  Specific duties include direct supervision of Securities Division attorneys and licensing and registration staff; assisting in creating and implementing internal and external policies; drafting and interpreting statutes and rules; overseeing and coordinating projects; and completing other duties as assigned.  The Chief Deputy works collaboratively with the Securities Commissioner, Associate General Counsel, and Senior Investigator in formulating the policy and direction of the Securities Division.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements include a law degree, admission to practice in the state of Indiana, and at least four years of experience as a practicing attorney in the areas of white collar crime prosecution or defense; securities law; business law; or civil litigation; or a combination of experience in these areas.  At least one year of experience supervising, directing and evaluating subordinate employees is preferred.

Compliance Officer Supervisor

The Compliance Officer Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Compliance Officers in the Securities Division.  Together with the other Compliance Officers, the Compliance Officer Supervisor processes applications, assists other Securities Division staff in the enforcement of the laws over which the Securities Division has jurisdiction, and addresses issues with licensing and registration applications. Critical Functions include customer service duties involving phone calls and mail, file maintenance, and database upkeep.

Auto Dealer Services Division-

Paralegal

The Paralegal is responsible for assisting the Auto Dealer Services Division in compliance and enforcement matters, such as preparing administrative pleadings, discovery, assisting with case preparation, enforcement administration, maintaining additional data inquiry, complaint work, and communication with regulated entities.  The Paralegal would also manage all complaints within the Auto Dealer Division.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of basic legal processes, including the arrangement of depositions, responding to discovery and the pleadings structure.  Candidates must have the ability to read and review statutes relating to the Auto Dealer Services Division.
