Indiana Election Division Co-Director (D)

Trent Deckard began serving as Democratic Co-Director of the Indiana Election Division on January 1, 2011.  In his position, Deckard maintains a firm commitment to protecting the integrity of voting for all Hoosier across the state. 

Prior to his service at the Election Division, Deckard served as District Director and Field Representative for U.S. Congressman Baron Hill in Indiana's Ninth Congressional District. There, he was responsible to the 20 counties and constituents living in Southeastern Indiana.  A Bloomington native, Deckard graduated from Ball State University, where he double majored in Criminal Justice with Criminology and Political Science. Before his service with Rep. Hill, Deckard served in various positions for Speaker B. Patrick Bauer and the Indiana House Democratic Caucus. 

Deckard is a graduate of Leadership Bloomington-Monroe County, a past Rotarian and Kiwanian, and serves on the advisory board for Yo-Mon (Youth Leadership Monroe County). He is also a member of the Son’s of the American Legion, Ellettsville Masonic Lodge #245, and both the Brown County and Murat Shrine. During his free time, Deckard enjoys time with his three lovely nieces, audio books, and his comic book and vinyl collections.
