Rokita Statement on MicroVote Certification

Indianapolis, IN - Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita today issued a statement on the bipartisan Indiana Election Commission's certification of software for the MicroVote Infinity voting system being used in forty-seven Indiana counties.

"I am pleased that those responsible for this incident finally understand the importance of using only tested, certified equipment. What Hoosiers saw during this potentially volatile episode was that we are looking out for the voter and taxpayer by not tolerating anything but tested and certified equipment in our electoral process. Hoosiers should go to the polls with confidence on Tuesday. My investigation into MicroVote's actions or inaction will continue to determine whether civil monetary penalties are appropriate."

Secretary Rokita will be available to comment on hearings for both MicroVote and ES&S today, April 28, at 3:00pm in Statehouse Room 201.
