All state agencies with 50 or more established positions (and/or receive more than $50,000 in federal contracts) are required to develop an Affirmative Action Plan. To further implement Affirmative Action compliance, these Affirmative Action Plans are periodically monitored by the State Personnel Department to evaluate their effectiveness. This program is designed to introduce the monitoring program and identify the components of the reporting system. Participants should bring a calculator.

This program is designed to enable participants to become beginner signers. The American Sign Language the Easy Way course is designed to enable participants who have little or no knowledge of American Sign Language to learn to sign to a point where they can function comfortably in a wide variety of situations in the Deaf Community. This program provides information on regulations that mandate Affirmative Action compliance and how to implement an Affirmative Action Plan. Effective records management is an obligation for all state agencies. Properly implemented, it improves the quality and efficiency of state government. The course stresses the use of information as a resource and information technology as a tool to help agencies fulfill their missions.
